After the desk feasibility, we provide detailed system design service as the next stage. This produces final specifications ready for fixed-price quotation and procurement — full PVSyst yield modelling, detailed electrical drawings, structural calculations, and DNO G99 application documentation.
Detailed scope and pricing
The design service includes: structural assessment of each building (frame analysis, purlin verification, racking specification); detailed electrical design (string sizing, inverter selection, protection equipment specification); PVSyst yield modelling with full shading and orientation analysis; DC and AC single-line diagrams; G99 application documentation; planning consultation where required (Class A Part 14 PD assessment, Listed Building Consent, AONB pre-application). For multi-building installations, the design service covers the full programme including phased deployment scheduling, shared G99 application strategy, and coordinated commissioning timeline. We use industry-standard PV design software (PVSyst, Solar-Pro, AutoCAD) and electrical design software (Dialux, Amtech). Who gets the design service: clients who have completed feasibility and want to proceed to detailed design before committing to install; clients evaluating multiple installer quotes who want independent design; estates with multiple farm sites where coordinated design across the portfolio matters. For standalone design (without subsequent install): typical fee £2,000-£8,000 depending on scope. For design integrated with our install scope: included in fixed-price proposal; no separate fee.
